Overview
This review is analysing the GoPro Hero 11, and comparing it to the Hero 12, Hero 13 and the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro.
Highlights
GoPro Hero 11
The Hero 11 features 5.3K video at up to 60fps, and HyperSmooth 5.0. These features are mainly useful for action, especially HyperSmooth. The battery life is decent, and it takes high quality pictures.
GoPro Hero 12
The Hero 12 builds on the Hero 11, with a more powerful processor, more effective version of HyperSmooth and more battery life. This camera has no GPS module, meaning that if you intend on using it for applications that need a GPS location with the content, then it might be more suitable to go with a different camera.
GoPro Hero 13
The Hero 13 further builds on the Hero 12, with even better battery life, up to 6K video at 30fps, 30MP photos, and an even more advanced version of HyperSmooth. This camera adds back the GPS module from the Hero 11, meaning that it can be used for applications requiring GPS.
DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro
This action camera features high quality OLED touchscreens on both the front and back. It also features a 4 hour battery life. It features 40MP photos, as well as 4K 120fps, and RockSteady 3.0. This camera doesn’t have built-in GPS, but it can be added with an external accessory.

Recommendation
Out of these cameras there are a few recommendations, if you can find a GoPro Hero 11 for cheap second hand, then it is a good investment. If you need GPS, then go for the GoPro Hero 13. If you don’t need GPS, then go for the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro. Try to avoid the GoPro Hero 12, as it doesn’t provide many features that make it worth the same price, especially considering it’s almost identical to the Hero 11 except without a GPS module.
